I bought my first DSLR camera when my kids were born. I wanted to have great photographs as they grew up. Six years later and they learned to run away from my camera, so I have turned my focus to landscapes. Now, instead of chasing my children, I am chasing the light.
I moved to Dorset in 2020, it offers a stunning range of landscapes on my doorstep, from the quintessential English woodland, to the dramatic seascapes of the Jurassic Coast. For this reason, it is an already heavily photographed part of the UK, it can be challenging to find truly original images. It is that constant search for something new that motivates me. Photography gives me an excuse to get into the outdoors and escape the pressures of work. As I pursue peace in the countryside, I try to capture that feeling in my images.
Recently I started to enter my images into photography competitions, and have begun to enjoy some success.
